New websites for small business owners can pose challenges: when do they have time to write and post photos and blog posts?
SEO and SEM optimized websites: necessary but painful…
I listened to a webinar this afternoon in which the presenters discussed a BIA/Kelsey survey of SMB owners that found 58% are placing a high priority on SEO and SEM in their marketing and advertising plans. Trouble is, many of their current websites are based on Web 1.0 technology; owners find that making changes to their sites is difficult. Most want optimized content in order for sites to be dynamic, robust and effective, but many have no time to create their own content (and, often, they have no confidence in their writing skills).
Freelance content writers to the rescue
Organizations that have decent websites but few pages of content can hire freelance writers to “get inside their business” and help them write lots of customized, optimized content to attract more site visitors and retail visitors. Business owners whose websites are version 1.0 truly do need to figure out how to move to next-gen websites … sites that are easy to change and add content to (WordPress sites such as my own can be awesome) and that allow for great blog posts with easy-to-optimize functionality.
