Similar to creating art, expressing one’s thoughts and feelings through words can be deeply personal — even painful to some people. When it’s a chore to express thoughts via the written word, no matter what the writing project is, ask for help.
When writing projects need to move from the back burner to “active” mode and you find yourself with absolutely no time to devote to the process — or if you find writing to be downright painful — consider outsourcing. The next time you find yourself tasked with some or all of the following types of writing, I will act as your personal ghostwriter or editorial assistant, either writing original material for your review or editing your material to improve it:
- Personal correspondence
- Letters of recommendation
- Résumés, biographical sketches and CVs
- Family histories and descriptive photo albums
- Travelogues
- Obituaries and eulogies
- Toasts and tributes for weddings and other celebrations
A few samples of small-project work I’ve done for clients follow:
A few personal writing samples are posted here. I am not bashful about sharing, despite the fact that one of the pieces was my sweet Mother’s obituary. Betty Pfannerstill Obituary. Others include photo-book type presentations , such as one I created for a young man my husband and I mentor: Nick Gardner August 2015; letters of recommendation: Letter of Recommendation; or endorsements and testimonials: Testimonial about Barbara S.
