Press releases (also commonly called media releases or news releases these days) are important vehicles to gain attention for your brand. It’s likely you or your company does something newsworthy every week (or every month). Write about news and events — or outsource that task!
Many of my clients have their own in-house marketing and communications teams who send media releases to their favorite outlets. But in-house employees are often engaged in major initiatives or otherwise overbooked with work, so they hire me to write the releases for them.
Media releases are typically just one page, but they provide enough engaging information to allow reporters and editors to get the gist of the story. Check out these “ghostwritten” media releases; companies send them out with their own marketing and communications leader’s name on them.
