SMB websites with video expected to grow in popularity
Soon I will delve into the appealing world of video. I have long admired people who are adept at creating and editing compelling videos to help deliver their messages to target audiences. (Of course, I have forever admired people who master the art of telling stories through video to entertain and inspire and motivate us.)
Once I started working on this website and began presenting my services to prospective clients, a few people have asked me about whether I plan to put videos on my site. “Well, yes,” I say, “Someday.” In reality, someday is, well, like yesterday!
I would also like to help my clients tell their stories through video. It is so very easy to shoot and edit these days; it’s almost shameful that I haven’t delved into the practice and learned the art and science of telling stories visually.
Video scripts help present professional, personable stories
But first things first. I need to decide what I want to accomplish through video, then write the scripts, edit the footage, and, finally, post them to the site.
Research recently conducted by those in the know has described the growing trend toward using video in business. Consider these statistics: • 80% of all internet traffic will be video by 2018. (Cisco); • Local video advertising is expected to grow 38.9% in 2015, making it the second fastest growing digital category. (Borrell Associates); • 32% of SMBs expect to grow marketing spend on online video this year. (Local Search Association); • Nearly one in three millennials say they’ve purchased a product as a result of watching a how-to video. (Google); • 192.9 million Americans watched online content videos via desktop computer in May 2015. (comScore)
Those stats tell the story that the use of video is growing by leaps and bounds. Stay tuned and watch for video scripts and other video services to be added to my list of offerings.
